If you’ve been renovating a home in Malaysia over the past few years, there’s a good chance you’ve been to HOMEDEC.

Held twice a year at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, HOMEDEC is one of the country’s most established home design and renovation exhibitions, primarily targeting end consumers (B2C) by showcasing products, ideas, and solutions directly to homeowners and the general public. This is a four-day event that brings together over 350 exhibitors and upwards of 40,000 visitors each edition. Homeowners with floor plans in hand, interior designers sourcing new collaborators, first-time buyers trying to make sense of what a full renovation actually involves. It’s the kind of room where real decisions get made, and it’s been one of the most consistent parts of our exhibition calendar since we first took a booth there.

We’ve been at HOMEDEC KLCC four times now: May 2024, November 2024, March 2025, and November 2025. Each edition has been a little different. The March 2025 edition carried the energy of the Raya season, with visitors arriving mid-renovation and under a real deadline. The November editions tend to attract a crowd of people planning for the year ahead, thinking about what they want their home to look like once the dust has settled on whatever they’re currently working on.

At HOMEDEC, people come prepared. They arrive with sketches, with photos saved on their phones, with measurements written on the backs of envelopes. Some are interior designers with a specific client brief and a tight timeline. Others are new homeowners who’ve realised that the furniture they thought they could replace cheaply isn’t holding up the way they hoped and they want to understand what a proper investment actually involves.

Our product range at the expo has steadily expanded beyond dining tables to include coffee tables, foyer tables, study desks, cabinets, and even bed frames. While space only allows for a curated selection to be displayed, each piece highlights the beauty of premium solid wood; where no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Because we’re the manufacturer, not just a retailer, these conversations go somewhere useful quickly. We don’t just stick to our catalogue but we are open to customisation options, from modifying our current artisan designs to building something entirely new. At the exhibition, each conversation is centred around practical guidance covering suitable dimensions, estimated production timelines, and pricing expectations. To support clearer decision-making, physical samples are available to help visitors better understand the differences between wood species. For homes with challenging or unconventional layouts, on-the-spot discussions help explore ways to work around space constraints, with customisation options thoughtfully considered to suit each unique space.

What we’ve noticed across all four editions is a shift in how Malaysians are approaching furniture decisions. More visitors are arriving already aware that what they bought before wasn’t built to last, and are increasingly asking about longevity, resanding, and refinishing, the considerations that come with choosing furniture meant to endure over time, rather than pieces expected to be replaced frequently. That’s the right conversation to be having, and HOMEDEC keeps giving us the room to have it.
